What
they said about Hyborian Tales II: The Clang of Swords and the Yells of the Dying:
"As and when HT run another event I will be one of the first booked on it and I’ll be singing it’s praises to anyone who will listen. I don’t think anyone who enjoys putting a character and kit together and Role Playing full on for a weekend could fail to enjoy themselves.
I’m loathe to give anything 10/10 but HT comes damn close!” – Nick (Jenko)
“At the end of the adventures, both crew and players broke into spontaneous applause for each other, which I reckon speaks volumes. Completely knackered and crawling home, my main thoughts were concerned with plans for the next event, about which I am wildly excited.” – Lou
“That jellied body part stuff that got all over my chainmail is really, truly, disgusting. I thought I'd had to pick up unpleasant things when I worked in an abattoir, but this is way ahead in the repellent stakes.” – Lou
“What a fabulous event! Best roleplay I've had in a couple of years!
And may I say what a great mechanism fate points are, it's a shame I've used all mine already.
I've never had eight monsters dance around me and attempt to torture me in preparation for sacrifice for a whole half hour before the rescue party arrives. You just can't get that elsewhere. I even have the urge to write a Robert E Howard version of what happened on the adventure.
Looking forward to the next one.” – Tom
“I can't go on enough about what a fantastic time I had and how much I'm looking forward to next year’s (where I hope to die my evil villain death betrayed by Party Evil).” – Suzy
“I also had an amazing time, well worth not only every penny, but also every single second of shrieking muscle agony and rasping throat-pain .... In a way it’s odd that I enjoy HT so much, as I'm not really the biggest fan of either fighting or linears, but there's an enthusiasm to Hyborian (especially the last game) that really makes it special. At no time did I get the sense of a player/crew distinction, or anyone moaning about what they got for their money - everyone understood that we were all there to ensure that everyone had fun, and there was a great communal atmosphere to the game that was even more impressive considering how few of us actually knew each other before the Friday.” – Richie H-R
